Overview of the Portuguese Permanent Residency Programme

Permanent residents of Portugal can freely throughout the European Union and Schengen Zone.

To become eligible for a Portuguese Golden Visa, interested individuals must invest a minimum of €500,000 in Portugal’s real estate. Individuals can also invest €400,000 if the property is located in a low population density area, €350,000 for properties older than 30 years located in an area of urban regeneration, or €280,000 for properties older than 30 years located in a low population density area.

Lifelong permanent residency can be achieved following 5 years of temporary residence.
