To qualify for Greece’s GV, third-country investors have a choice of three different investment options. In all cases, GV holders enjoy the following benefits:
• GV granted for five years but indefinitely renewable provided the GV holder maintains the investment
• The right to live and study in Greece, but no requirement to reside in Greece
• Visa-free travel within Europe’s Schengen Area
• One GV application can cover the whole family (married spouse, children under 21 years old, and parents of the main applicant and spouse)
• Ability to hold shares and receive income from the dividends of a company registered in Greece (but not to be employed in Greece)
• Residence permits can be acquired within 6 months
• Eligibility to apply for citizenship after seven years of residence

Processing Time

Greek Golden Visa Program Criteria

  • Real Estate Route: An investment in real estate with one of the three
    thresholds below:

• Minimum of €800,000 in Attica, Thessaloniki, Mykonos, Thira and islands with a population of more than 3,100 inhabitants.

• Minimum of €400,000 in all other areas.

• Minimum of €250,000 in properties converted from commercial to residential, or restoration of listed properties.

 

  • Business Route: A minimum investment of €500,000 in the establishment and operation of a business.

 

  • Financial Investments Route: A financial investment in one of the two options below:

• Fixed-term deposit of at least €500,000.

• Purchase of shares with an acquisition value of at least €350,000.

Other Conditions

  • The applicant must be over the age of 18.
  • The applicant must have a clean criminal record.
  • Health insurance must be obtained from a company based in Greece.
  • A valid Greek Visa for entry into Greece so the Golden Visa application process can be initiated.
